Garage Floor Epoxy

Garage Floor Epoxy, although similar to normal paint work, is more inline with the process of painting a car.  That is why we put it on its own webpage.  We use the highest quality oil-based epoxy polymer coatings, never water-based.  Below is a listing of the step-by-step process of applying a quality garage epoxy floor:

Removal of garage belongings

  • Rental of temporary on-site storage if necessary.
  • Placement of belongings in temporary storage.

Sanding of garage floor
  • Use belt sander to open pours of concrete (extremely important step for longevity of floor - acid wash is inferior)

Applying first coat
  • First coat is applied left to right facing garage.
  • Allowed to dry depending on outside temp. for 2 to 6 hours.

Applying second coat
  • Second coat is applied front to back facing garage.

Applying acrylic flake
  • If chosen as and option, acrylic flake is applied as specified by the homeowners desired color scheme.
  • The flake is applied directly after second coat of epoxy is complete.  This is done with special shoes.

Final Coat
  • A high-performance clear coat is applied 24 to 48 hours after second coat is applied.
  • This ensures the best color endurance of the epoxy as well as sealing in the acrylic flake.
